Fasting and Weak Immune System

Corona is more easily transmitted to those with weakened immune systems. If we fast during Ramadan, our immune system weakens. Then can we not fast this Ramadan?

This determination is not medically correct. Medical professionals say that the immune system of a normal healthy person will not be impaired by fasting, and that exposure to a process called "hunger", as in Africa, will damage the immune system. For this reason, there is no medical support to say that fasting during this epidemic will have an effect on weakening against the pandemic.

Especially;

- Eating the sahur meal well,

- Carrying the sahur to the last minute,

- Fasting by taking enough liquid in sahur, biiznillah, does not cause any danger.

Only those with uncontrolled diabetes or chronic kidney or liver disease may be exceptions to this rule. It was already possible for them to be allowed to postpone the fast even in normal times. At a time when we need to be more under the umbrella of mercy in this month of Ramadan, we should not listen to such rumors that can alleviate the magnificence of fasting.
