Is it possible to go on pilgrimage by borrowing money?
I want to make a pilgrimage but I don't have any money. I have someone to borrow money from. If I take a loan and go, will there be a deficiency in my Hajj? Will some of my reward go to the lender?
If a Muslim has enough wealth to perform Hajj, it becomes obligatory for him. Hajj is not obligatory for those who do not have property. A person can perform Hajj even though it is not fard. If he thinks he can pay for it, he can borrow money. Making a pilgrimage by borrowing money or making it with one's own money does not make any difference in terms of acceptance of the hajj. If the person who has accumulated debts has no problem in paying his debts, he can make pilgrimage, but if his debts will turn into a violation of rights, he must first pay his debts.
