Is it permissible to have an electronic tattoo?

It is haram to have tattoos on the body. Being electronic does not change this. However, if it is done for a medical reason, it may be permissible. For example, the fact that a wound on the skin can only be closed with a tattoo may be permissible with medical/doctor's treatment.
