Contingency Plan for Muslim Families
We have a family of Muslim people. What would you advise us to do for our religion and our own piety (taqwaa) as a contingency plan for such a family? I might also ask: What priority work plan would you recommend to us?
1. You should know that living as a believer is a great blessing and that Allah should be thanked for this blessing. Again, you should know that faith is not an inexhaustible blessing. Efforts must be made to preserve it. This should be seen as a jihad. We have to protect ourselves and our family members from all negativities that may affect our faith, especially from doubts and bad examples.
2. It is important to stay away from sins and to adopt the principle of staying away from the causes of sin.
3. Worship, especially prayer, should not be interrupted. First of all, fards should be fulfilled and importance should be given to supererogatory worship in proportion to our strength.
4. We should work to be a Muslim who gives charity, and we should do things that will be good for charity in all its varieties.
5. Attention should be paid to the mischief brought by this century regarding women. The importance of women's living as a "virtuous woman", especially our morals, from veiling to worship. We must have realized that the smallest concession to be made over it will be reflected on generations.
6. We should see raising children not as an ordinary job, but as a job that gave headaches to even the greatest prophets, and we should raise children with great patience. We should not see education as teaching schools and having a job, but as raising believers.
7. As we live our religion, we should never neglect to do something for our religion. We must do continuous and valuable works for our religion, and we must have great goals to convey our religion to all people.
8. We will never be hopeless, we will not see despair as a disease and bring it into our home.
9. We will know and protect our home as our source of patience.
10. Bond with relatives will be one of the principles of our house and for the sake of Allah, we will make it in a way that will please him.
